Continue to pray

This picture is of the Archaelogical site just next to where we meet..you can see they are preparing the seating for our great Outdoors church- sometime in the future!

Another good weekend, Jamie had a good meeting in Perea with his folks, we were in the city with our small group - it was good and rewarding.

Next weekend we have our monthly celebration - I will be contacting people in the next few days - in the meantime please pray that the breakthrough continues.

the stars...

Here are some new photos of the carnival fun, from our professional... A big well done to Jamie, Joanna, Kalli, Daniel & Alexia who braved the cold in those thin, silky costumes. (Remember your long johns next year!) Despite the fact that Joanna still can't quite get all the face paint off... you can see from the photos it was all jolly fun. You did a good deed to the general public guys! It's always great to get involved. A good chance to see people out and about and get invited out for coffee! (etc.)

You can't fault the Greeks with their sense of community spirit.

I find it very easy to be cynical about Greece, even after 8 years. You find yourself thinking, "this is useless - how could they ever....?"
Recently I have been thinking about the power of WORDS & the tongue. We have to be careful!
God
said let there be light and there was light! We have that same power too... and so we create things with what comes out of our mouths!
So I've decided to speak out positively. There are plenty of things that I think are so
fantastic about this country, that I now call my home! So I'm going to blank out the rest (as much as I can) and hone in on the good things.
Not only that, but I'm going to speak out propheticly what I want to see happen in this land. Healing, salvation, restoration, freedom etc.
Our words have the power to change things!

Carnival day here in Perea

So it's carnival day - a procession that proved to be larger than expected was due to start about 11.00. In accordance with Greek tradition it started soon after 12.00 and was colourful loud and a great start as it was the first parade ever, here in Perea.

Jamie, Joanna and the psomalis family excelled as clowns and wow - you should have seen them move. I Guess 4-5000 people turned out.

Political correctness and Global warming are not features of life in these parts so some aspects of the parade would definately be frowned upon by those who love the PC stuff...

Tonight we have our various events the Barnes & the Psomalis family are reaching out to friends and neighbours; The Webb's & David Carter will be in the city wit a small group of folk. However the advance contineus and there are great steps being taken by some who are not a part of any church...

Out there are a host of hurting people.

I have a sense that this is one of those moments when the Lord is forcing the church out from the safety of it's walls.. I wonder if Jesus would go to church if he were to physically walk into any western city?

Out there are a host of hurting people. Jesus brought good news and reconciliation to them. We have been charged with the monistry of reconciliation. I believe this is a God moment when we are required to demonstrate the Kingdom of God to the world with power.

Please pray for our anointing , power and authority to increase.

A good weekend

It's been a good weekend.

The prayer night on Friday was a really good begining, a group of young men joined us from Perea...

Sunday Jamie's group met in Perea with a group of locals... We met in the city.. lots of sharing - worship & prayer for the sick - this was a much smaller group than the previous week - but the events of the previous week are only supposed to be monthly.

This week looks full - with a desire to make contact with a number of local leaders... more to follow.

Something has changed

We have a real sense that something has changed in the Spiritual climate. Since the start of the year we have seen one young guy give his life to the Lord. A number of others come along and join us and a general fresh sense of hunger both amongst us as a team and amongst the people.

New opportunities have also come along and we have seen situations that have seemed stuck suddenly change and people who have seemed closed suddenly have a new openness. This can only be due to the Spirit of God who we sense is moving amongst us, meeting the hunger & thirst he finds in us and answering the prayer of many years... So we invite you to rejoice with us.

Tomorrow is tsichopembti - Greasy Thursday - everyone goes out to a restaurant to eat meat! Then it is the start of Carnival for about 10 days. So why should the Greeks have all the fun - we'll be off for Gyros tomorrow!

On Friday we will commence our Worship & prayer nights in the city. We will go out on the streets and both suss out what's going on and look for God created appointments.. we have already heard that our young guys will come along and hopefully others who were with us on Sunday will join us.. Maybe we will even get into some street preaching!

Thanks for your prayers, keep at it!

Breakthrough - Full House

Great news - the room was full, we had to get more chairs - that means between 50 & 60 folk.. There were non-church people who heard the gospel; There were some folks from other churches - hungry to move on; There were people from the nations and a fantastic response.

There was really good worship; a Testimony from Kali and some words of knowledge for healing - 4 people came forward. It flowed, was uncontrived and when we finished most people stayed around for coffee & cake.

Some new relationships; some old ones moved on and a foundation upon which we can build.

We are very happy and praising the Lord this morning... Rejoice with us - more later & maybe pictures - but wanted to post this blog early.
Thanks for your prayers ....

Here's an opportunity

Lynn & I have the opportunity to buy a house nearby. It looks about 20 years old and is 500 sq.m. plus another apartment of about 80 sq.m. It has a largish garden, garage and large living area. Its fairly nearby and would be a great ministry base as we could relocate our office and have guest accomodation.

Anybody interested in making an investment in this property could contact me.

Praying about it...
David & Lynn

Good morning from Thessaloniki;

Preparations are going well for our opening this weekend in the city... We have invited a crowd so please pray that we are anointed. We will meet evry Sunday night - the first for Celebration and the others for something more like a home group. We will also meet every Friday night for Worship & Prayer. I am looking at doing some themedsemionars in the place also.

We have some capital expenditure needs that require meeting ath the moment and our trustees suggested I put them on the Blog...

The House of prayer has some renovation expenses; We need to buy a car - about 25,000 Euro; a couple of Laptops; a projector to link to the computer; We still need to complete payment of the van - about £2500.... If you would like to help please get in touch...

Yesterday jamie & I (DW) drove to veria where we met with some believers, it was an encouraging time... the Lord is moving..
